Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church

Reserve Campaign

It is a true blessing that we have been a house of worship for about 30 years!  This can seem like a lifetime ago, and yet we have only just begun.  A strong desire to bring more people into a relationship with

Christ keeps us growing and vibrant.  This creates a need for more spaces, updated and additional equipment, and having an exuberant look forward as we bring more people to the love of Christ.  We seek to meld what our membership and mission have been up to now, and what we hope them to be in the future.

Saving for rainy days is like an insurance policy you know you will need to file a claim on!

It will happen sooner or later.

What will the next 30 years look like here at SOTH?  We are diligently planning for the current and future needs of our church and the greater community.  In the process, caring for the sacred spaces we've been blessed with is an essential foundation in moving forward.

The Reserve Fund is a foundation for our future.

Please consider a one-time or estate donation to help support our work.

A Nutshell of Our Coming Needs

Please note: the first two items are going to become priorities in the near term.  Lesser priority items are included in this list, too.

1. Furnace and Air Conditioning in the church/parish hall building:

Estimated at $20,000 to $25,000 +

2. Roof on the church/parish hall:

Estimated at $50,000 +

3. Replacement the digital

sign board:

Estimated between $27,00 to $32,000

4. Parish hall carpet to hard flooring replacement:

Estimated at $10,000 +

Expansion of spaces:

Limited only by funds and imagination!

?????

HVAC Replacements Are A Top Priority

The first priority is the units in the sanctuary/parish hall building.

The cost of repair, which happens periodically, is prohibitive due to the age and complex nature of the units.  By replacing them we can reduce outages and service calls as well as create more efficiency.

Why SOTH is Important To Me

It is a place that proclaims the Gospel, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16, through Fr George’s sermons, Thursday’s Bible Studies, and our outreach ministries.

The people of Shepherd of the Hills are a caring, friendly family who live out SOTH’s mission statement, “Transforming community through the love of Jesus Christ,” through its ministries both within Shepherd of the Hills and in the greater community of Citrus County and the world.

There is diversity, yet unity among the congregation and its ministries. We all work together for the greater good of the church and to glorify God.         It’s a place where individuals can grow in body, mind, and spirit through worship, prayer, study, ministries, and community/friendships.

Nothing is ever stagnant at Shepherd of the Hills, and we humbly welcome whoever walks through our doors to become a part of our church family.

This is why Shepherd of the Hills is important to me and why I commit my time, treasure, and talents here.

Roofs...The Reality of a Lifespan in Florida!

The roof on the church building, 14 years old in 2025, and by the grace of God currently has no significant issues.  However, the reality of staying ahead of the point of problems is approaching in a few short years.
