Each year, Shepherd of the Hills and The Citrus County Chronicle sponsor the Father Christmas Ball. This is a semi-formal dance with a special visit by Father Christmas. Each year a "Father Christmas" is chosen from the community as a way to honor achievements the individual has made during the year.
Appetizers and Dinner are served, and there is a cash bar available.
The dinner and dancing run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. the first Friday in December. This year it will be December 5, 2008.
